If you didn’t know about it yet, Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 Validation OS without any announcement or something related to it.

Well, it’s not a new edition of Windows for general users, rather it is a lighweight, fast and customizable Operating System which helps in building, diagnosing, repairing etc. while manafacturing a Windows Device.

So basically, you won’t have to install the full Windows 11 for building hardware and software related to it.

Also, the OS boots to a Command Line Environment with having support of running Win32 applications. This will help developers in developing apps and retail OS.

According to Microsoft:

Microsoft Validation OS is a lightweight, fast, and customizable Windows 11-based operating system that you can use on the factory floor to diagnose, mitigate and repair hardware defects during Windows device manufacturing. Validation OS boots into a Command Line environment to increase reliability on the factory floor and supports running Win32 apps, smoothing the transition from early hardware bring-up to retail OS and apps development.”

To download Windows 11 Validation OS, you have to accept the “MICROSOFT SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMS” first:
